Alcohol, medication misuse, gambling addiction — addictive disorders start gradually. Companies without a clear works agreement on addiction and intervention skills stand unprotected when incidents happen.
Why it pays off
Managers have a duty of care and a duty to intervene. A missing works agreement on addiction can be judged as a breach of organisational or supervisory duty when incidents occur.
