What are BGM / BGF / BEM? Where's the difference?
BGM is the roof over everything: the management layer that structures, plans and evaluates occupational safety, BEM and BGF — not a fourth category alongside them.
BGF covers all voluntary measures for health promotion. Employers can invest up to 600 € per employee tax-free as BGF.
Occupational safety & health protection
Protection against physical and psychological hazards. Risk assessments, safety instructions, company doctor and technical protective measures.
Workplace integration management (BEM)
Structured return-to-work process after >6 weeks of incapacity per year — documented with HR and the company doctor.
Workplace health promotion (BGF)
Voluntary measures for active health promotion: exercise, nutrition, mental health. Up to 600 € per employee/year tax-free (§3 no. 34 EStG).
